Our Norwegian story
During World War Two, one-fifth of the population of Dumfries was Norwegian, made up of the thousands of exiles who had been sent to the town after Norway was invaded by Nazi Germany. In the December issue, Carol Hogarth reports on the £52,000 project, being run by The Stove Artists’ Network, to celebrate the Norwegian connection and bring the joint heritage alive.
