A Word With… Shelby Watson

The 17-year-old Moffat Academy student, who was born with cerebral palsy, is a rising star in the world of wheelchair racing. She was named Sports Person of the Year in Dumfries & Galloway Life’s People of the Year Awards 2014, and Annandale & Eskdale’s Young Sports Personality of the Year in April. Her 2015 racing season is already off to a great start, with Shelby winning gold in the U17 London Mini Marathon. She lives in Johnstonebridge with her parents Russ and Becky, and has two sisters: Kerry, 21, Caitlin, 13, and a brother, Bob, 11. Anne Armstrong chats to Shelby in the July issue.
